Embedded World 2025 Day2: Innovations in Secure Manufacturing and Embedded Security
EPS Global had an action-packed presence at Embedded World Exhibition & Conference 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany. The event showcased the latest advancements in embedded security, provisioning partnerships, and secure manufacturing solutions. Our team visited key partner booths, explored cutting-edge technologies, and engaged in insightful discussions on the future of security in embedded systems.
Key Highlights from the Event
1. Partnering with NXP for Secure Provisioning
EPS Global is proud to collaborate with NXP Semiconductors as a provisioning partner, utilizing the EdgeLock 2Go platform. A key focus was on their MWCT charging microcontroller, which requires Qi authentication certificates for secure wireless charging at 15W. Our provisioning services ensure seamless security integration for NXP’s innovative solutions. You can find out more about Secure Qi Authentication for Wireless Charging at Lower Cost from EPS Global here.
2. Tropic Square’s Award-Winning Secure Element
Our embedded security customer Tropic Square received the Embedded World Award for Safety and Security for their groundbreaking Tropic Square chip. This secure element is the first fully auditable and transparent chip, setting a new standard for embedded security. EPS Global provides secure provisioning of TROPIC01, Tropic Square’s transparent and auditable secure element chip, as well as streamlined logistics to support mass production. Find out more about our partnership here.
Interview with Tropic Square’s CTO:
Colin Lynch: Congratulations on winning the award for Safety and Security! Can you tell us more about Tropic Square?
Jan Pleskac: Thank you! This little chip, the Tropic Square, is a first-of-its-kind transparent and auditable secure element. Unlike traditional security solutions, which require blind trust, our technology allows full verification by users. Our motto is simple: ‘Don’t trust, verify.’
Colin Lynch: That’s impressive! What does this mean for security in embedded systems?
Jan Pleskac: It’s a game-changer. We are moving away from ‘security by obscurity’ and embracing ‘security by transparency.’ We look forward to working with EPS Global on provisioning and distributing this product in the coming weeks.
3. Infineon’s Secure Flash Technology
At the Infineon booth, we explored the latest advancements in secure flash memory. Infineon’s Secure SEMPER™ Flash technology provides one of the most robust storage solutions available today, ensuring maximum data protection for embedded devices.
4. SCI Semiconductor’s Secure Smart Metering
SCI Semiconductor demonstrated how their RISC-V instruction set enhances security in smart metering. Their data partitioning technology ensures superior protection for sensitive energy consumption data.
Looking Ahead: Secure Horizons 2025
For those who couldn’t attend Embedded World 2025, we invite you to join us at Secure Horizons 2025 at Jodrell Bank on March 27th. This event will feature exclusive demos and discussions on the latest advancements in embedded security.
Stay tuned for more updates from EPS Global as we continue to drive innovation in secure provisioning and embedded security!
