Design Your Carrier Tape in 3D Before You Send Us the Part
Getting a custom carrier tape specified takes time at the start of a project. There is usually a round or two of exchange between your team and ours before anyone has a drawing to look at, and that repeats with every new part number.
Our new Carrier Tape 3D Visualizer shortens that. Set your tape width and pocket dimensions in the browser, and a 3D model plus a 2D drawing build in real time as you type. Download the drawing, share it with your team, or send it straight to your local EPS Global engineer for review.
Three Steps:
- Choose your tape width to suit the footprint of your component.
- Set your pocket dimensions, allowing clearance so the part seats and releases cleanly without moving around inside the pocket.
- Review and export. Rotate the 3D preview, check the 2D drawing, then download it or submit it for engineer review.
No login. Nothing to install. No cost.
Seeing the tape take shape makes the trade-offs easier to judge. A pocket that grips too tightly causes problems during placement, and one that leaves too much room lets the part move in transit. The visualizer lets you weigh that by eye rather than working it out on paper.
An engineer still checks the work
When you submit a design, a local EPS Global engineer confirms the final dimensions, tolerances and pitch, checks feasibility against the tooling available, and comes back to you with a quote. Treat the output as a draft that starts the conversation, not a finished manufacturing specification.
If you only have the physical part or a datasheet, send it over and we will take the measurements for you.
